Monday night’s Married At First Sight UK reunion episode had surprises in store for viewers.
Weeks after the vow renewals were filmed, the group were seen reuniting for a final dinner party, to see which couples were still going strong.
Shock splits between Whitney and Matt and series golden couple Chanita and Jordan were revealed, leaving Zoe and Jenna the only couple still together.
Going strong: Monday night’s Married At First Sight UK reunion episode had surprises in store for viewers, as shock splits revealed that the only couple still together are Jenna and Zoe
While April and George arrived at the dinner party as a couple, it has since been revealed that April has ended her marriage amid George’s recent arrest on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour in past relationships.
Jenna and Zoe though had the group rejoicing as they arrived at the dinner hand in hand, gushing: ‘It’s really nice walking in as a couple because I think it proves that the experiment works.’
‘Since leaving the experiment, me and Zoe have really made an effort with each other. We’ve made time for each other, even though we both have really busy lives,’ Jenna told the camera.
Happy: ‘Since leaving the experiment, me and Zoe have really made an effort with each other. We’ve made time for each other, even though we both have really busy lives,’ Jenna explained
Later at the dinner party, the couple shared an emotional moment as Zoe told her tearful wife: ‘I’m just happy we made it to this moment.’
‘To come back together when you can see how many times other people have tried and it hasn’t worked out.’
‘I’m really proud of us,’ Jenna agreed.
‘You tick so many of the boxes that I asked for. You’re thoughtful, ambitious, intelligent, ‘ Zoe continued, leading her wife to tell her ‘I feel emotional, I’m happy for us both that we’re together.’
Split: Things weren’t so rosy for the other couples, as Whitney revealed she and Matt had ended their controversial relationship just weeks after the vow renewals
Recent split: While April and George arrived at the dinner party as a couple, it has since been revealed that April has ended her marriage amid George’s recent arrest
Things weren’t so rosy for the other couples, as Whitney revealed she and Matt had ended their controversial relationship just weeks after declaring their love for one another during the vow renewals.
‘We were super intense, in each other’s company all the time,’ Whitney explained to the group.
‘I just feel like the distance is a big thing. He’s three hours away from me, when you want to discuss something in person, it’s just harder. You’re frustrated because you’re miles apart.’
She later told her friend April: ‘He has a lot of things going on in his life,’ adding ‘I still have feelings for him. I still care for him but I’m not going to be silly, I’m not going to jump back into things for the sake of it.’
Break up: Sophie and Jonathan’s marriage also crumbled in the weeks after the vow renewals, as Sophie acknowledged ‘we had our ups and downs, but we are very different people’
Sophie and Jonathan’s marriage also crumbled in the weeks after the cameras stopped rolling, as Sophie acknowledged ‘we had our ups and downs, but we are very different people.’
She later told her ex during tense scenes at the dinner party that she didn’t think he valued her. ‘I knew I couldn’t give Sophie what she wanted,’ Jonathan told fellow cast mate Lara.
Meanwhile Chanita broke down in tears during Monday’s reunion following her shocking split from Jordan.
The couple’s surprise break-up was revealed exclusively by MailOnline just hours before the couples attended their final dinner party together, and during the episode Chanita admitted they called it quits as Jordan had ‘changed’ once filming ended.
In a dramatic confrontation, Chanita claimed Jordan said he ‘didn’t want to be with her’ despite the pair renewing their vows during the series finale, leaving him squirming as she insisted she was ‘worth fighting for.’
It’s over! Meanwhile Chanita broke down in tears during Monday’s reunion following her shocking split from Jordan
Chanita and Jordan arrived for the dinner party separately, revealing to the other couples that their marriage was over.
Discussing their break-up for the first time, Chanita told the other girls: ‘When we came out of the experiment, his efforts changed.
‘I kept saying ”I don’t feel like you’re interested in me, you’re not making an effort” and he was like ”oh no, I can’t wait to see you”.’
Tense: The couple’s break-up was revealed by MailOnline on Monday, and during the reunion episode, Chanita claimed Jordan ‘changed’ once filming for the show ended
‘Then he was like ”I don’t think we’re compatible, I don’t want to be with you”. It was really weird. What he says and what he does are two different things.’
At first Chanita insisted that she and Jordan had remained ‘friends’ and their split was amicable, but things took a dramatic turn during the dinner party when she confronted him.
She slammed for renewing their vows when his ‘heart wasn’t in it’ adding that she was ‘worth fighting for.’
Emotional: Discussing their break-up for the first time, Chanita told the other girls: ‘When we came out of the experiment, his efforts changed’
Chanita then broke down in tears in front of Jordan, leaving him to hug her and apologise for his behaviour.
She blasted Jordan for taking her to renew their vows if his “heart wasn’t in it”, insisting: “I was worth fighting for.”
Viewers were quick to slam Jordan for the way he treated Chanita, with one tweeting: ‘I said weeks ago that Jordan was too immature for Chanita. He is a child.
Tough: She added: ‘Then he was like ”I don’t think we’re compatible, I don’t want to be with you”. It was really weird. What he says and what he does are two different things’
