AMD Zen 4 Ryzen 7000 to launch on September 15 at US$799 for … – Notebookcheck.net

AMD Zen 4 Ryzen 7000 desktop CPUs will be making their way to markets soon. So far, we have not seen much info on the likely SKUs in the Ryzen 7000 family and their probable pricing info. Now, we are getting to know some preliminary info on Zen 4 launch timelines, pricing info, and about 3D V-Cache versions of these processors.
According to Paul from RedGamingTech, Zen 4 Ryzen 7000 can be expected to have a September 15 launch with an official announcement likely a week before. Paul also managed to source some early pricing info pertaining to Ryzen 7000 as follows:
Additionally, there will also be the G-series covering the value segment that will likely include the Ryzen 5 6600G at US$199 and the Ryzen 7 6700G at US$279. It is important to note that these prices are just indicative and a lot can change in the run-up to launch.
A lot also depends on how Intel prices its Raptor Lake offerings and the possible staggered launch timelines for these SKUs. For instance, the Ryzen 7 7700X may not make it to the initial launch but could be slotted between the Ryzen 5 7600X and the Ryzen 7 7800X at a later date.
Paul also claims that Ryzen 7000 may be able to hit 6 GHz with Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO), but this would require some fine binning and some serious cooling prowess.
Well-known leaker @greymon55 on Twitter indicated that a Ryzen 7 7800X3D with 3D V-Cache could be in the works. In addition to the 7800X3D, we might also see a Ryzen 9 7950X3D implying that AMD will be offering 3D V-Cache in both its 8-core and 16-core top-end variants.
Pricing for the 3D V-Cache variants is anybody’s guess at this point, but current signs point to an increased markup over corresponding conventional SKUs.
